Chamber Commends President Marcos’ 2025 SONA: A Roadmap Aligned with its Economic Compass Pillars 5 (ECOMP-P5)

MANILA, Philippines – The Chamber of Commerce of the Philippine Islands (CCPI) lauds the 2025 State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for laying down a people-centered and future-focused roadmap that reflects the Chamber’s own core advocacy — the Economic Compass Pillars 5 (ECOMP-P5).
“We recognize the President’s sincerity and clarity in addressing both the gains and gaps of the past three years,” said CCPI President Jose Luis U. Yulo Jr. “His focus on inclusive progress resonates strongly with our ECOMP-P5 framework — our blueprint for national development that empowers the Filipino, strengthens industries, upholds good governance, builds sustainable communities, and drives economic self-reliance.”
Under Pillar 1: The Filipino & Education, the Chamber welcomes the President’s investment in academic recovery, health and nutrition including mental health programs, healthcare support, school infrastructure, providing training and scholarship programs and digital learning — crucial efforts toward achieving Mission A: Best Education, Mission B: Quality Health, and Mission C: At Least One Excellence.
In Pillar 2: Industries & Businesses, the administration’s continued support for MSMEs, including collateral-free loans and training for low-income families that will encourage to have a more Filipino-owned companies and industries such as software engineering and hardware manufacturing that will subsequently connect our islands, mirrors Mission A: Industries That Connect Our Islands & Industrializes the Country and Mission B: Filipino-owned Companies.
On Pillar 3: The Government, the Chamber takes note the continues initiative to create more jobs and livelihoods, allowing to have a higher productive capability, adapting a digital governance through E-gov that will aid in providing government services effectively and efficiently,  prioritizing peace and security is a key pillar in protecting the country as a whole, and addressing those government personnel who steal public funds will be dealt by under the rule of law — resonates with all the Missions namely; Mission A: Best Citizens are in Government, Mission B:  Natural Resources Are Used For Local – Based Factories, Mission C: Protector Of Country, Citizens, Territory & Patrimony, Mission D: Front Office Services Are Five Stars, and Mission E: The 12 Traits Of Good Governance.
For Pillar 4: Infrastructure & Environment, President Marcos’ push for rural electrification, road connectivity, internet expansion, and potable water access for underserved communities, building more roads, bridges, railways, airports, seaports – provided that it can withstand adverse effects of earthquakes and typhoons strongly affirms Mission B: Man – Made Infrastructure and Mission C: Islands Constraints Into Advantages.
Lastly, in Pillar 5: The Economy, the Chamber affirms its support for the government’s bold push for food security, agricultural revitalization, P20-per-kilo rice, and maximizing renewable resources — all central to
Mission A: Natural Resources Fuels Local Manufacturing & Self Sufficiency and Mission B: An Encompassing Economy That Incorporates 4 Sectors.
The Chamber calls on the administration to lead with resolve and deliver results. Let us not waste this opportunity to realize our goal for Bagong Pilipinas. Now is the time to act, the CCPI President said
